While playing Earthbound (SNES RPG; I believe it was called Mother 2 in Japan), I felt randomly compelled to try drawing a picture in a similar style to the one used by the game to draw its environments. I think that a certain someone (i.e. Hira - I seem to be namedropping her an awful lot, hopefully it isn't getting old) suggested that I base the picture on myself and my room.

The first iteration of this picture featured "me" holding a baseball bat, which was more faithful to the game but far less entertaining than the cricket bat I ended up with. Still not entirely sure why I would be wearing a cap, though. I'm sure I could have come up with something more amusing if I'd tried harder.

So... inspired by Earthbound, and Miss Hira has an odd (but endearing!) habit of calling me Sir; voilà, Sirthbound!
