I like to make my own little labels to stick on Christmas presents. Usually I just use it as an excuse to draw a pretty girl in a Santa-like outfit (except for that one year with the odd pun involving guns), but this time I thought it would be nice to do something a bit more sweet and festive. I also wanted to rope Hira into helping out, partly because it would give me an excuse to spend some time with her (I am shameless), and partly because I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to draw so some external input was handy.

I think this is my favourite of all the silly Christmas themed pictures I've done. The people are supposed to be younger versions of myself and Miss Hira, although I'm not sure they're wonderful likenesses or anything. The cat up the tree is Ozzy (who really does have a thing for climbing up trees in real-life), and the dog hiding behind Young Hira's legs is Phoebe (who has now sadly passed away). I still think that the snowman is the real star, though!

I like the simple colouring style - as Chevluh said at the time, it makes the background look like it's made of gingerbread or something. I also had a lot of fun throughout the entire process of making this picture. If only I could make cute little seasonal greetings pictures for a living...
